These Bliss Bites are a take on peanut butter balls with more nutrition.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sunflower seeds 

  • ¼ cup sesame seeds 

  • ¼ cup hemp hearts 

  • ¼ cup chia seeds 

  • ½ cup unsweetened coconut flakes  (divided) 

  • ½ cup cocoa powder 

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon 

  • ¼ tsp ground cloves 

  • ½ cup almond butter or peanut butter

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup or honey

Directions

  1. In a food processor or blender pulse all dry  ingredients until almost smooth (about 30 seconds.)
  2. Transfer to a mixing bowl and stir in almond butter and maple syrup.
  3. By hand, form one inch balls and roll in remaining ¼ cup coconut flakes to coat.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.  Store in an airtight container, refrigerated up to a week.  Can be frozen for several months.

NUTRITIONIST’S TIP:

These are a good alternative to most store bought granola snacks because they are gluten free and naturally sweetened.
